Meghan Markle reveals what she would change about public’s perception of her

Meghan Markle has opened up about the public’s perception of her, saying she would love to change one thing in particular.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, opened up about her life in California — detailing the changes she and husband Prince Harry have navigated since stepping down as a senior members of the royal family.

During an appearance on the “Aspire With Emma Grede” podcast, the “Suits” alum briefly touched on the public narrative around her and her husband.

Grede, a businesswoman who had built her own empire after joining forces with the Kardashians through various investments, pointed out that Markle’s public image is “very different” now than it was before she started dating the Duke of Sussex.

“It is, Emma!” the As Ever founder said in agreement. “It is very different.”

Grede then asked if the former actress would have done anything differently to “rewrite” her public narrative “from scratch.”

“Yes,” Markle responded. “I would ask people to tell the truth.”

Elsewhere in the episode, the mom of two joked about the now-viral video she shared of her and Harry dancing in the hospital while awaiting the birth of their daughter Lilibet in 2021.

The duchess was widely mocked earlier this month for sharing the video, which showed the pair “dropping it low” while dancing to Starrkeisha’s then-viral song, “The Baby Momma Dance.”

“You have to be authentic,” the As Ever founder tells host Emma Grede, before asking, “Did you see my ‘Baby Momma’ dance?”

Grede admits that she had indeed seen the video, telling Markle that she even “did a little secret cheer” for her while watching it. “Like, I wanna see that happiness and that honesty and that ‘I don’t give a f–k’ kind of thing,” the podcast host adds.

“By the way, that wasn’t yesterday,” Markle clarifies, reminding fans and critics that she recorded the video — which she uploaded on June 4 in honor of Lilibet’s fourth birthday — four years ago.

“That was four years ago. So it’s also a really great reminder that, with all the noise or whatever people do, there’s still a whole life. A real, authentic, fun life that’s happening behind the scenes.”

“I’m just grateful that now, being back on social as well, I have a place where I can share it on my own terms,” she added.
