Watch live: Military officials testify before Senate on budget request



Defense officials and representatives from all of the military branches will testify before the Senate Appropriations Committee Tuesday morning about the Trump administration’s fiscal 2026 budget request.

The hearing will focus primarily on the request for increased funds to boost military construction and family housing. Senate Democrats in particular have pressed the Defense Department to probe what’s driving price hikes in rent and housing costs for military families.

The event is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. EDT.
